JOURNALLING: Journal writing is not a big feature in most Singaporeans school (unlike in many Western countries), so we have tried to do more of this at home.
Lunar Year with Le Le: you have probably heard of the Le Le Chinese books (books that can teach a child to read Chinese without pinyin, and it actually works). They’re great, and play a key part in our daily Chinese routine. What you may not know is Le Le also provide free fun activities and online art classes to support families on the journey with using their books.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU READ?
RED PACKET CRAFT: Lunar New Year is approaching faster than we could take down the Christmas tree. So our tree has become a Year of the Rabbit Tree 🐰 , adorned with simple homemade decorations from red and gold packets.
Will you be including anything Chinese in the stocking this year? This post very quickly lists out some things to consider to put Chinese into the gift list, especially focused for the little ones (kindergarten and preschoolers). There still is time to order so please consider giving something Chinese to keep languages alive and magical in your family this year end.
The truth is that it’s okay for kids to be bored.
